These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of TAU, a mobile application published by Vecorps Technologies ("we," "us"). By creating an account or using TAU, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use TAU.
TAU is an AI companion application. All AI processing happens locally on your device: your conversations and TAU's memory of you are stored on your device only and are not transmitted to our servers. TAU is not a human being. TAU's responses are generated by an artificial intelligence language model and may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate despite our safeguards.
TAU is a companion application for general conversation. It is not a licensed therapist, counselor, medical professional, or crisis service, and it does not provide medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice. Nothing TAU says should be treated as professional advice. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or thoughts of self-harm, contact a crisis line or emergency services immediately (in the US, call or text 988).
You must be at least 17 years old to use TAU. By using TAU, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
You need an account (email and password) to use TAU. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. Your account stores only your email, authentication data, and subscription status — it does not store your conversations or memories, which remain on your device.
You may delete your account at any time in Settings. Deleting your account permanently removes your account from our servers and erases all local data (memories and conversations) from your device. This action is irreversible.
TAU's core design principle: your conversations and TAU's memory live in a local database on your device. We cannot access, read, sell, or share them — they never reach us. Consequences you accept:
TAU offers a free tier and a paid subscription ("TAU Pro") billed through your Apple ID via the App Store ($9.99/month or $59.99/year, prices may vary by region). Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under their policies. Deleting your TAU account does not cancel your Apple subscription — you must cancel it separately in your Apple ID settings.
You agree not to use TAU to: attempt to generate content that is illegal, that sexualizes minors, or that incites violence or harm against others; attempt to reverse-engineer, extract, or redistribute the AI model or the application; or violate any applicable law. We may terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
AI-generated content can be unpredictable. TAU includes safeguards, but no filter is perfect. You can report problematic AI outputs through the app. You are responsible for how you use AI-generated content.
TAU, its design, and its software are owned by Vecorps Technologies. The underlying language model is an open-source model used under the Apache 2.0 license. You retain ownership of the content you write; you grant us no rights over your conversations (we never see them).
TAU is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vecorps Technologies shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of TAU, including reliance on AI-generated content or loss of locally stored data. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated in the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
